Apple overtakes Samsung in sales of most smartphones.
Cuteness is emerging in the global smartphone market. Apple currently holds a significant share of the global smartphone market and has overtaken Samsung for first place for the first time in 12 years.
U.S. phone companies accounted for more than a fifth of the phones sold last year, according to International Data Corporation. Samsung Electronics occupied 19.4% of the market share along with Chinese mobile phone manufacturers Xiaomi, OPPO, and Transsion, while Apple held more than 20%.
Smartphone sales are decreasing. According to the report, smartphone sales last year amounted to about 1.2 billion units, down more than 3% from the previous year.
This is the lowest sales volume in 10 years as many consumers a reluctant to purchase due to the economic recession and high interest rates, but experts predict that the market will improve this year.
